{"product_id":"it-it-anita_sauve-vinyl_2021_lad","title":"SAUVE (vinyl)","description":"Belgian rockers IT IT ANITA are treating us. Definitely established as an alternative rock reference since their last album 'Laurent' (2018) and the subsequent 150-concert tour in Europe, the four boys are driving the point home with Sauvé, a new album of massive noise recorded in France in the summer of 2020. It was not easy to follow up 'Laurent', as it perfectly revealed the complex personality of IT IT ANITA from start to finish, with variable cycles of rough punk or bitter pop, US indie music or icy post-rock – founding influences frequently cited are Pavement, Grandaddy, Weezer, Mogwai, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Hot Snakes, etc. Yet it is with brilliance and enormous stylistic mastery that the band surpasses the third album milestone, with Sauvé and its ten new songs that were recorded and mixed by genre reference Amaury Sauvé (Birds in Row, Bison Bisou, etc.) in his studio in Mayenne. Produced with greater meticulousness than its predecessors, both in content (greater attention is paid to precise choices of materials and sound methods) and form (for the first time, tracks are pre-produced then intensely rehearsed before finally being recorded), Sauvé strikes first by its more direct and powerful aspects. From the opening \"Ghost\", the intentions are clear, the tone is hardened, and while the desire for 'songs' and melodies remains essential for IT IT ANITA (let's never forget our first loves, mentioned here), they are built on structures as robust as they are precise. The production of Sauvé by Sauvé is magnificent and the four Belgians sound like never before. This is evidenced by the first part of the album, which impressively strings together four noise-rock bombs before the breathing space of \"Authority,\" a superb Bedhead-esque ballad evoking current diktats. And this is the other notable element of the album: Goffard's lyrics, he who does not escape his obsessions with his surroundings, largely reveal a dark atmosphere: allusions to daily pressure and its various injunctions, dehumanizing routine and lost loves. Only the album's title, deliberately optimistic (and obviously a nod to the producer's name, now a habit for IT IT ANITA), goes against the trend by delivering a message full of hope. The second half of the album and its new bursts (\"Cucaracha\", \"Routine\", etc.) ends with a colossal and bipolar \"53\", and ultimately convinces us that IT IT ANITA has indeed released its best album to date with Sauvé, without minimizing an already brilliant past, but condemning us to furiously shake our heads while waiting to see them sweat and shout their noisy refrains on stage again.","brand":"It It Anita","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55310235304280,"sku":null,"price":23944819.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3526186616011_15f7f61a-b69d-4af0-8bc8-379af0f6b293.jpg?v=1760318706","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/it-it-anita_sauve-vinyl_2021_lad","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
