Ibeyi invokes Isis, also known as Aset. A symbol of sacred knowledge, the Egyptian goddess represents resurrection and absolute love. In mythology, Aset steals the knowledge of the gods to resurrect her lover Osiris, turning him into a god. But in a more modern reflection, the song gives voice to Aset.
