{"product_id":"guido-baumer_symphonies-n1-et-3_2014","title":"Symphonies n.1 et 3","description":"A native of the city of Worms in Germany, Friedrich Gernsheim left very early for Leipzig, where he became the youngest student at the city’s Conservatory at the age of thirteen. His musical training then took him to Paris, then the epicenter of musical life in Europe, where he met Liszt, Saint-Saëns, Rossini, and Rubinstein. It was during music festivals in Mainz and Cologne that he further expanded a circle of friends that now included Johannes Brahms, Clara Schumann, and Max Bruch. He later held the post of music director of the city of Saarbrücken, then taught and became conductor in Cologne for six years. He then settled for nearly twenty years in Rotterdam, from where he would never stop traveling to perform and champion the music of his friend Johannes Brahms. He ended this life rich in travels and musical friendships in Berlin, where he died in 1916 after spending his last fifteen years there. The influence of his many travels can be felt in the magnificent symphonies he composed, of which the first and third are available on this recording. Great music, dramatic and spectacular.","brand":"Guido Bäumer","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":58783038112088,"sku":null,"price":22931571.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0761203775828.jpg?v=1791931211","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/guido-baumer_symphonies-n1-et-3_2014","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
