{"product_id":"fred-uhlman_orchestral-music-volume-3_2026","title":"Orchestral Music Volume 3","description":"The composing career of Robin Stevens (1958–2026), born in Wales and based in Manchester, was divided into two periods, separated by a period of illness. The first primarily produced chamber music and works for the church that employed him; upon returning to health (briefly, as it turned out), he found a taste for larger forms, writing three significant concertos and several other orchestral works. The symphonic poem Mourning into Dancing was his first for large orchestra, but he mastered this medium with virtuosic assurance, generating a piece of delirious excitement, a kaleidoscope of colors and rhythms. Stevens never lived long enough to complete the symphony he had in mind, but his vast four-movement Concerto for Viola is symphonic in its approach, with the solo viola initiating and commenting on the action – somewhat like a distant cousin of Berlioz's Harold in Italy. The more modest Concert Rondo for flute and small orchestra offers a slight relief between these two powerful scores.","brand":"Fred Uhlman","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57936055435608,"sku":null,"price":24070564.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/5060113447883.jpg?v=1786401566","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/fred-uhlman_orchestral-music-volume-3_2026","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
