{"product_id":"ezechiel-pailhes_sol_2026_lba","title":"Sol","description":"On his sixth solo album, Ezéchiel Pailhès returns with a new collection of songs in a sunny and wandering mood. A common emotion runs through the twelve songs of Sol. One hears the expression of bliss, nonchalance, or desire, sometimes mixed with gentleness or joy, which singer Ezéchiel Pailhès has always associated with the idea of melancholic happiness (\"Saudade\" in Portuguese), a mood that runs through much of his music and songs, as well as Brazilian culture. Beyond this feeling, Ezéchiel evokes in his songs love, the passage of time, hope and lost illusions, moments of grace, the temptation of oblivion, escape, or desire, across twelve singular songs whose sober orchestrations blend acoustic and electronic instruments. Undoubtedly, this originality comes from the way the artist has appropriated the Brazilian repertoire through these new songs. After Mélopée, his last album of songs released in 2022, and the instrumental Ventas Rumba released two years later, the artist reinvents and modernizes with this album some of the most beautiful works of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), particularly a handful of classics (little-known here) from samba and bossa nova of the 1950s to 1970s, New Release Information originally written or performed in their time by Vinicius de Moraes, João Gilberto, Tom Zé, Dorival Caymmi, João Donato, Os Tincoãs, or Ataulfo Alves. The shift from Portuguese to French, and the choice of adaptation rather than simple cover, allowed him to invent a form of prosody and euphony that is willingly dynamic, unlike any other in the current French song landscape. On this new album, the French artist nevertheless wanted to avoid any cliché. This is why each song is built around a clever balance between Ezéchiel's piano and synthesizers and sober orchestrations of percussion, brass, bass, and cavaquinho (a kind of small four-string plucked guitar), recorded in Rio De Janeiro with two musicians usually found alongside the legendary Caetano Veloso... joined by Thomas Harres, Antônio Neves, Eduardo Neves, and Gabriel Loddo.","brand":"Ezechiel Pailhes","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57307667792216,"sku":null,"price":23607143.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/4070209020112.jpg?v=1779009991","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/ezechiel-pailhes_sol_2026_lba","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
