{"product_id":"ensemble-aurora_the-assisi-sonatas_2014_disco-virgin-music-group","title":"The 'Assisi' sonatas","description":"The sumptuousness of the sound, the elegance of the tempos, the expressiveness of the intonation of the violinist Enrico Gatti, have diligently illuminated the music of Arcangelo Corelli. Today, the repertoire is enriched with an absolute novelty: the \"Sonates d'Assise,\" 12 Sonate da camera for solo violin and cello, most likely written by Corelli in Bologna, which are therefore prior to the Sonates en trio opus 1 published in 1681. Given the immense influence of Corelli, as the inventor of a language as well as an art of interpretation, the rarity of his published works is surprising. Enrico Gatti and Guido Olivieri, who signs the essay accompanying the disc, convinced of the identity of the author of these sonatas, happily fill this gap: indeed, these sonatas coming from a manuscript preserved in the Franciscan monastery of Assisi, are on one hand clearly related to the style practiced by the Bolognese of the mid-17th century, and on the other hand reveal many elements characteristic of Corelli's style. Enrico Gatti, who always approaches these questions of authorship with extreme rigor, demonstrates his proposition with undeniable and... exciting eloquence! Four other sonatas from manuscripts that can also be attributed to Corelli are included in this disc, where the cellist Gaetano Nasillo and the harpsichordist Anna Fontana accompany Enrico Gatti.","brand":"Ensemble Aurora","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57783282860376,"sku":null,"price":23446521.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/ensemble-aurora_the-assisi-sonatas_2014_disco-virgin-music-group","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
