{"product_id":"enno-voorhorst_concerto-metis_2018_soc","title":"Concerto Métis","description":"The CONCERTO MÉTIS First concerto for guitar and string orchestra by Roland Dyens, written and premiered in Cannes (France) in 1990. The title of this concerto reflects what Roland Dyens was: a classical guitarist himself mixed by the multiple influences that shaped him: the South American music of Heitor Villa-Lobos, Leo Brouwer or Egberto Gismonti - jazz, which he considered the most beautiful event of the 20th century, and that of his guitarist-composer ancestors like Fernando Sor, Francisco Tarrega and Emilio Pujol, to become the open-minded and borderless composer he was. This concerto is mixed with traditional Venezuelan music, impressionist music but also jazz with its \"optional cadence\". It is also a tribute to the Great Ida Presti whom he admired and whose excerpts from works run through this Métis concerto. After Elena Papandréou who plays this concerto around the world, I am happy that Enno Voorhorst records it and plays it surrounded by excellent musicians and this, with immense sensitivity and a poetry to which my brother was so attached. - Laura Dyens-Taar 03\/07\/2018 Dyens' most important work is the concerto for guitar and string orchestra Concerto Métis performed here by Enno Voorhorst and the string orchestra The String Soloists, well known by the Cobra label. They were all seduced by Dyens' unique style which lies between the traditional work of French composers such as Francis Poulenc or Darius Milhaud and the songs of Jacques Brel or Claude Nougaro. Dyens himself wrote about this concerto: 'This concerto for guitar and string orchestra, written in homage to the divine Ida Presti, is in classical form, is marked by its 'racial' variety which permeates the whole and which unambiguously explains the word \"Métis\", a racial mixture.' The solo compositions on this album were chosen from his lesser-known works, but which certainly deserve the public's attention. His most famous composition Tango en Skaï has been recorded here in its energetic version with a string orchestra. At the same time Enno Voorhorst composed for this album an arrangement of the second part of Concerto in B specifically for guitar and guitar ensemble. In agreement with Roland Dyens this arrangement received the name of Sérénade and was the first recorded on a CD.","brand":"Enno Voorhorst","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57447855980888,"sku":null,"price":23837195.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/8713897904345.jpg?v=1780612419","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/enno-voorhorst_concerto-metis_2018_soc","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
