{"product_id":"dreamcastmoe_sound-is-like-water_2022_mdl","title":"Sound Is Like Water","description":"Dreamcastmoe is the project of singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ Davon Bryant, who has always lived in Washington. His music freely shifts from one mood to another and from one mode to another, hypnotic, romantic, traversing electronic, R\u0026B, funk, soul, and hip-hop. This adaptability and finesse, the ability to swirl in different directions while remaining true and coherent in his vision, originates from his hometown and its complex cultural history. A versatile artist and collaborator, his laid-back personality, emotional honesty, and contagious energy shine through in his work. He grew up playing drums in church. He had dead-end jobs, went through ups and downs, even sold all his equipment once, but he never stopped reinvesting in himself. He doesn't hesitate to praise his co-producers, to cite his influences — the visual aspect of NBA 2K, Bernie Mac's sense of comedy, the scholarly legacy of Duke Ellington, to start with — and to pay tribute to Washington pioneers like Ankhlejohn who showed him the way. His voice, a stable instrument, seems to connect everything, moving from a slow falsetto flow to a braggadocious talk-rap. His storytelling style is choppy yet fluid, like a mixtape, and this is how Bryant sees Sound Is Like Water, his debut album on Spectral Sound, the freeform label of Ghostly International. The world of dreamcastmoe straddles the line between virtual reality and the reality of Washington, with images both imagined and lived. Bryant has a gift for unexpected melodies, but what makes his music so exciting is his ability to defy genre and image expectations. A fluid ingenuity and vulnerability bottled up in Sound Is Like Water, and this is just the beginning.","brand":"dreamcastmoe","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55311976530264,"sku":null,"price":23257661.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0804297715018.jpg?v=1760407383","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/dreamcastmoe_sound-is-like-water_2022_mdl","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
