And as the title says, 'love changes everything'.The Dirty Three - Warren Ellis, Mick Turner, and Jim White - formed in Melbourne in 1992, to play guitar, drums, and violin or viola, and within a few years they had left Australia, and everything else they might have found there, to set about taking over the whole world. For the next ten years, they toured relentlessly, all over the world, and released seven albums along the way. Subsequently, their unique, jigsaw-puzzle-assembled playing style was disassembled, more often than not, and re-assembled in many other fruitful collaborations with other esteemed talents. In the past 20 years, they have convened again and again, renewed their vows, fired up the engines and played a few shows, or recorded an album. As now -Here are the sounds of Dirty Three hitting their stride again:- The original fury of their power trio drums\/guitar\/violin or viola, tracing three unique paths through nature to a sudden convergence -- tinkling melodies resonating softly over a rolling landscape wherein guitar, drums, violin or viola and synths commingle! And broken hills, forests, lakes and deserts. And mountains rising far away…- Cyclical changes of mood; a sudden descent from the tumult of flights and heights to the deep canyons of a heart-wrenching adagio. Just as sudden second breaths, spirited activity in their extremities that never really stops. The opening of the depths. Mistrust and patience allow them to be drawn into loops, to become ambient, to transcend, and then to fight their way back again. Their wild, wandering heart is not just a mere derivative of the collective sea legs, it is an already ancient telepathy that manifested itself from the beginning of their thirty-plus years of existence.- What an atmosphere! Formerly desolate, emotion-laden fields, into which one has strayed, encountered as if by chance (but which are actually the result of the divining rods in their hands).- Everything - everything has been transformed by love and has bubbled with the clarity of spring water that has just been touched; translucence has given way to muddy jets of distortion - dirty guitar, violin stains, drums sometimes hammered beyond the capacity of the microphones to receive...Once received and recorded on 'tape', or any other medium - the master might well be engraved in amphibole plates - this music was detached from its streams of consciousness and re-considered as a recording; it was enhanced by edits, overdubs and mixes, re-sequenced and transformed into a suite.
