Geins't Naït and Laurent Petitgand have been music activists for over 30 years, two uniquely individual musicians from two different schools, and their collaboration was far from obvious: the industrial and experimental scene for Thierry Mérigout (the last active member of the Geins't Nait group) and for Laurent Petitgand, film music, known notably for his long collaboration with director Wim Wenders. The two artists have seemingly distinct visions but share common roots. - - As with the album ‘OLA’, the duo GN+LP is joined by an artist well-known to fans of ambient and IDM: Scanner. The Londoner is a virtuoso of sound collage, one of the most active figures in the underground electronic scene since the 90s. He has released over twenty albums on prestigious labels such as Sub Rosa and New Electronica. A proponent of collaborations, he has worked with numerous artists throughout his career: Gareth Davis and Alva Noto... Also joining this new record is Siril Tiebo, a cellist, contemporary artist, and performer who appears on several tracks ‘Idiot LP1’ and ‘Idiot Scan’. - - This new album \"Et il y'avait\" exudes a different atmosphere from the previous ‘OLA’. Calmer and more atmospheric, ‘Et il y'avait’ leans more towards dark ambient this time, while still being enriched with numerous industrial sounds. ‘Et il y'avait’ by Geins't Naït, Laurent Petitgand \u0026 scanner is highly recommended for all fans of Coil, Caroline K, or Nurse with Wound. - - - - - Intense and immersive, the work of GN+LP+Scanner creates an atmosphere: a timeless sound space, the perception of a cold, mechanical world that is strangely reassuring.","brand":"Collectif","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":58499344531800,"sku":null,"price":23678470.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3521383480458.jpg?v=1789685038","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/collectif_et-il-y-avait_2023","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
