{"product_id":"chris-gantry_at-the-house-of-cash_2017_mdl","title":"At The House Of Cash","description":"\"Chris, June and I listened to your album last night and I don't think even the junkies are going to understand it.\" WOW. To me, that was a compliment.\" - Chris Gantry recounting Johnny Cash's first feedback on the album.\nAuthor of the hit 'Dreams Of The Everyday Housewife', Chris Gantry was at the origin of Nashville's new wave of songwriters which later included Kristofferson, Mickey Newbury, Tony Joe White, Dan Penn and many others. After a first album mixing folk and pop (Introspection, 1967), his approach became more radical with Motor Mouth (1970) until the UFO-like At The House Of Cash. After being arrested for cultivating marijuana, Gantry took refuge with Johnny Cash and wrote for his publishing company. At the same time, he entered a phase of intense experimentation, particularly on guitar, and received permission from Cash to record in his studio. Dominated by a feeling of ecstatic intoxication, whether pure rock n' roll or divine ballads, this UFO album was never released due to a lack of label support. This cruel error is finally rectified today.
