camille-bertault_en-vie_2016
En vie
She is not yet thirty, she sings as naturally as she breathes, overflows with imagination and creativity in her French-language reworking of the great jazz themes, and she can thank the internet, the great career accelerator of the 21st century.
Camille Bertault is a connected singer. This is evidenced by the way she made a name for herself through social media, on which she posted numerous videos highlighting her talent as a vocalist and her ability to take on the solos of great jazz musicians. Perhaps the most emblematic of them being “Giant Steps” by John Coltrane (730,000 Facebook views in 4 days and big names such as Roy Hargrove or Wayne Shorter.).
All this buzz prompted the New York label Sunnyside to distribute the record she had self-produced and recorded with Olivier Hutman (piano), Gildas Boclé (double bass) and Antoine Paganotti (drums).
There she signs six compositions, all the lyrics and the arrangements. She also covers standards by Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter or Duke Ellington.
