Moments of clarity on the true value of life on “I Got Love,” encouraging tracks like the title song “The Otherside,” and self-actualization declarations on “My Place, My Time.” Even the most straightforward love songs move outside the box lyrically, like “Sweet Agony” and “Loving Body.” As expected, the songwriting still has that raw and direct side but an evolution has taken place. There are new perspectives on familiar terrain which he felt needed a broader take on love. A vision with less ego and more empathy. This record is a message of encouragement to anyone who is struggling and cannot see a way out.
